Abstract
A mobile device with a display receives one or more inputs to install an application on the mobile device. The mobile device initiates a download of the application to the mobile device. While the application is downloading to the mobile device, the mobile device displays, on a home screen of the display, a placeholder object associated with the application. The mobile device displays, at the placeholder object on the home screen of the display, an indicator showing progress of installation of the application.
Claims20
A method, comprising:
- at a mobile device with a display:
- receiving one or more inputs to install an application on the mobile device;
- installing the application on the mobile device, wherein the installing comprises:
- initiating a download of the application to the mobile device;
- and
- while the application is downloading to the mobile device:
- displaying, on a home screen of the display, a placeholder object associated with the application;
- and
- displaying, at the placeholder object on the home screen of the display, an indicator showing progress of installation of the application.
A mobile device, comprising:
- a display;
- one or more processors;
- and
- memory storing one or more programs configured to be executed by the one or more processors, the one or more programs including instructions for performing operations including:
- receiving one or more inputs to install an application on the mobile device;
- installing the application on the mobile device, wherein the installing comprises:
- initiating a download of the application to the mobile device;
- and
- while the application is downloading to the mobile device:
- displaying, on a home screen of the display, a placeholder object associated with the application;
- and
- displaying, at the placeholder object on the home screen of the display, an indicator showing progress of installation of the application.
A computer-readable storage medium storing one or more programs configured to be executed by one or more processors of a mobile device having a display, one or more programs including instructions for performing operations including:
- receiving one or more inputs to install an application on the mobile device;
- installing the application on the mobile device, wherein the installing comprises:
- initiating a download of the application to the mobile device;
- and
- while the application is downloading to the mobile device:
- displaying, on a home screen of the display, a placeholder object associated with the application;
- and
- displaying, at the placeholder object on the home screen of the display, an indicator showing progress of installation of the application.
