Abstract
A finger-worn wearable ring device may include a ring-shaped housing, a printed circuit board, and a sensor module that includes one or more light-emitting components and one or more light-receiving components. The wearable ring device may further include a communication module configured to wirelessly communicate with an application executable on a user device.
Claims18
A finger-worn wearable ring device, comprising:
- a housing defining an inner circumferential surface and an outer circumferential surface of the finger-worn wearable ring device, the inner circumferential surface configured to at least partially contact a tissue of a user;
- a first conductive contact component disposed at least partially within the inner circumferential surface of the housing;
- a second conductive contact component disposed at least partially within the outer circumferential surface of the housing;
- and
- a controller disposed at least partially within the housing, the controller communicatively coupled with the first conductive contact component and the second conductive contact component, the controller configured to;
- cause one of the first conductive contact component or the second conductive contact component to generate an electrical current;
- and
- perform one or more electrical measurements associated with the user based at least in part on the electrical current received via the other of the first conductive contact component or the second conductive contact component via an electrical pathway formed between the first conductive contact component, the tissue of the user, and the second conductive contact component.

A method, comprising:
- generating an electrical current using a first conductive contact component of a finger-worn wearable ring device, wherein the first conductive contact component is disposed at least partially within an inner circumferential surface of a housing of the finger-worn wearable ring device, or within an outer circumferential surface of a housing of the finger-worn wearable ring device;
- receiving the electrical current using a second conductive contact component of the finger-worn wearable ring device via an electrical pathway formed between the first conductive contact component, a tissue of a user, and the second conductive contact component, wherein the second conductive contact component is disposed at least partially within the other of the inner circumferential surface or the outer circumferential surface of the housing;
- and
- performing, using one or more processors of the finger-worn wearable ring device, a user device communicatively coupled to the finger-worn wearable ring device, or both, one or more electrical measurements associated with the user based at least in part on the electrical current received via the second conductive contact component.
