Abstract
The present disclosure is directed toward a fire barrier for use in a fire rated movement joint (100) for an internal compartment wall. The fire barrier (132) comprises a strip of intumescent (126) material enclosed in a scrim (134), and the scrim (134) comprises a gusset (136) into which the intumescent (126) expands when reacting to heat.

A fire barrier for use in a movement joint of an internal compartment wall, comprising a strip of intumescent material enclosed in a scrim, and wherein the scrim comprises a gusset into which the intumescent expands when installed in the movement joint and reacting to heat.
