Abstract
The invention provides novel compounds and polymers with pendant aspirin, and degradable and biocompatible compositions, medical devices and implants, and methods of making and use thereof.

A compound having the structural formula (I):
- wherein R is H or Ac, and R1 is H or an alkyl group.
A copolymer comprising a structural unit of formula (II):
- wherein R is H or Ac, R1 is H or an alkyl group, and n is an integer from about 1 to about 200.
