Automatic picking machine for filling a transport container

A non-transitory machine readable medium having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by a machine, cause the machine to perform a method comprising:

• causing a filling guide to receive medical items from a storage location of a dispensing machine via a storage output shaft at the storage location, the storage output shaft providing the medical items to the filling guide;
• causing one or more transport containers to be placed at a filling location under the filling guide to receive at least a portion of the medical items from the filling guide;
• and
• causing the one or more transport containers to be filled with the medical items received from the storage location via the filling guide, wherein the filling guide has an upper opening arranged under the storage output shaft and a lower opening arranged above a respective transport container when the respective transport container is at the filling location, the medical items being caused to pass through the filling guide to drop into the respective transport container when the respective transport container is at the filling location.

A control apparatus configured to:

• cause a filling guide to receive medical items from a storage location of a dispensing machine via a storage output shaft at the storage location, the storage output shaft providing the medical items to the filling guide;
• cause one or more transport containers to be placed at a filling location under the filling guide to receive at least a portion of the medical items from the filling guide;
• and
• cause the one or more transport containers to be filled with the medical items received from the storage location via the filling guide, wherein the filling guide has an upper opening arranged under the storage output shaft and a lower opening arranged above a respective transport container when the respective transport container is at the filling location, the medical items being caused to pass through the filling guide to drop into the respective transport container when the respective transport container is at the filling location.
