Integration of car security and home security system

A security system for a premises, comprising:

• a plurality of sensors;
• and
• a security control device in communication with the plurality of sensors, the security control device comprising at least one processor and memory storing a plurality of computer instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to:
• obtain a first security system command for the security control device to enter an armed state;
• in response to the first security system command, transmit to a receiver installed in a vehicle associated with the security system a first vehicle command to deactivate an ability of the vehicle to be driven;
• obtain a second security system command for the security control device to enter a disarmed state;
• and
• in response to the second security system command, transmit to the receiver installed in the vehicle a second vehicle command to activate the ability of the vehicle to be driven.
