Abstract
A medical device, configured for insertion into a body, may include an elongate member extending from a proximal end to a distal end, where the distal end may be configured to be positioned inside the body. The medical device may also include an imaging device positioned at the distal end. The medical device may further include a plurality of light sources positioned at the distal end, wherein a characteristic of light delivered through a first light source may be controlled independent of the characteristic of light delivered through a second light source.
Claims21
-22. (canceled)
A method of illuminating a body, comprising:
- detecting an image inside the body;
- determining an illumination at each of two regions within the body based on the image;
- determining a difference in the illuminations between the two regions exceeds a threshold;
- and
- varying a lighting characteristic for illuminating at least one of the two regions in response to the difference in the illuminations between the two regions exceeding the threshold to thereby change the illumination at the at least one of the two regions.
A method for illuminating a body, comprising:
- detecting an image within the body;
- determining an illumination of each of different regions within the body based on the image;
- determining a difference in the illuminations between the different regions;
- and
- varying one or more lighting characteristics to change the illumination of one or more of the different regions within the body in response to determining the difference.
A method of illuminating a body, comprising:
- determining an illumination of each of a first region and a second region in the body based on a detected image;
- determining the illumination of the first region varies relative to the illumination of the second region by at least a threshold;
- and
- delivering light to illuminate at least one of the first region and the second region pursuant to a varied lighting characteristic until the illumination of the first region varies relative to the illumination of the second region by less than the threshold.
