The invention is directed to a hydratable concentrated surfactant composition. The composition is pourable, easy to dilute, substantially free of sulfate and oil, comprises a C6-C14 acid, alcohol, amide or mixture thereof, anionic surfactant and an amphoteric surfactant, zwitterionic surfactant or both. The composition is in lamellar phase and thickens and transforms to an isotropic phase upon dilution. The composition is substantially free of isethionates, can be used as a concentrate in small volumes and diluted as used and needed or can be diluted with water in refill packaging to ensure a reduction in plastic waste.
A hydratable concentrated surfactant composition comprising:
The method for making the end-use cleansing composition according to claim to 14 wherein the end-use cleansing composition has a pH from 4.8 to 7, a viscosity from 1,000 to 20,000 cps, and comprises a humectant and a preservative.
The method for making the end-use cleansing composition according to claim to 14 wherein the end-use composition comprises no isethionate and the structurant comprises PEG150 pentaerythritol tetrastearate.
The method for making the end-use cleansing composition according to claim to 14 wherein the end-use composition comprises 12-hydroxystearic acid, niacinamide, a resorcinol, vitamin B6, vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E, vitamin K, petroleum jelly, retinoic acid precursor, colorant, sunscreen, extract of sage, aloe vera, green tea, grapeseed, thyme, chamomile, yarrow, cucumber, liquorice, rosemary or a mixture thereof.
The method for making the end-use cleansing composition according to claim to 14 wherein the end-use composition comprises has less than 0.15% by weight oil.
