Abstract
In a case where a communication apparatus operates as a master station for determining a communication channel used in wireless communication, the communication apparatus does not transmit information indicating execution of carrier sensing, to a slave station apparatus connected to the master station.
Claims13
A communication apparatus comprising at least one memory and at least one processor, which function as:
- a first reception unit configured to receive, in a case where a wireless setting mode is enabled, information about an external access point outside the communication apparatus, from a terminal apparatus through direct connection established with the terminal apparatus without going through the external access point;
- a communication control unit configured to enable both a first mode in which wireless communication is performed through the external access point outside the communication apparatus, and a second mode in which wireless communication is performed without going through the external access point outside the communication apparatus;
- a second reception unit configured to receive a first trigger frame including information about execution of carrier sensing, from the external access point connected based on the information about the external access point received by the first reception unit, the first trigger frame complying with an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11 standard;
- a first transmission unit configured to transmit, in a case where the first trigger frame includes information indicating execution of carrier sensing, data after executing carrier sensing;
- and
- a control unit configured to perform, in a state where the communication apparatus operates as a master station determining a communication channel used in wireless communication of the second mode while the first mode and the second mode are enabled, control not to transmit information requesting execution of carrier sensing, to a slave station apparatus connected to the master station.

A method of controlling a communication apparatus, the method comprising:
- receiving, in a case where a wireless setting mode is enabled, information about an external access point outside the communication apparatus, from a terminal apparatus through direct connection established with the terminal apparatus without going through the external access point;
- enabling both a first mode in which wireless communication is performed through the external access point outside the communication apparatus, and a second mode in which wireless communication is performed without going through the external access point outside the communication apparatus;
- receiving a first trigger frame including information about execution of carrier sensing, from the external access point connected based on the received information about the external access point, the first trigger frame complying with an IEEE802.11 standard;
- transmitting, in a case where the first trigger frame includes information indicating execution of carrier sensing, data after executing carrier sensing;
- and
- performing, in a state where the communication apparatus operates as a master station determining a communication channel used in wireless communication of the second mode while the first mode and the second mode are enabled, control not to transmit information requesting execution of carrier sensing, to a slave station apparatus connected to the master station.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing one or more programs configured to cause one or more computers to function as:
- a first reception unit configured to receive, in a case where a wireless setting mode is enabled, information about an external access point outside a communication apparatus, from a terminal apparatus through direct connection established with the terminal apparatus without going through the external access point;
- a communication control unit configured to enable both a first mode in which wireless communication is performed through the external access point outside the communication apparatus, and a second mode in which wireless communication is performed without going through the external access point outside the communication apparatus;
- a second reception unit configured to receive a first trigger frame including information about execution of carrier sensing, from the external access point connected based on the information about the external access point received by the first reception unit, the first trigger frame complying with an IEEE802.11 standard;

- a control unit configured to perform, in a state where the communication apparatus operates as a master station determining a communication channel used in wireless communication of the second mode while the first mode and the second mode are enabled, control not to transmit information requesting execution of carrier sensing, to a slave station apparatus connected to the master station.
