Dynamic Earbud Profile

Tangible, non-transitory computer-readable media comprising instruction code that, when executed by a processor of a first earbud of a playback device, causes the first earbud to perform operations comprising:

• while operating in a first mode in which the playback device is configured to play back audio content received from a first content source via the first earbud and a second earbud of the playback device, and after receiving, via a first user interface of the first earbud, input data representing a first gesture, performing a first playback command;
• after the playback device is configured to play back audio content received from a second source via the first earbud and the second earbud, transitioning from operating in the first mode to operating in a second mode;
• and
• while operating in the second mode, and after receiving, via the first user interface of the first earbud, input data representing the first gesture, performing a second playback command that is different from the first playback command that is performed in the first mode.

A method comprising:

• while operating in a first mode in which a playback device is configured to play back audio content received from a first content source via a first earbud and a second earbud of the playback device, and after receiving, via a first user interface of the first earbud, input data representing a first gesture, performing, by the first earbud, a first playback command;
• after the playback device is configured to play back audio content received from a second source via the first earbud and the second earbud, transitioning the first earbud from operating in the first mode to operating in a second mode;
• and
• while operating in the second mode, and after receiving, via the first user interface of the first earbud, input data representing the first gesture, performing, by the first earbud, a second playback command that is different from the first playback command that is performed in the first mode.
