Sidelink Demodulation Reference Signal Indication in Sidelink Control Information

A method comprising:

• receiving, by a first wireless device from a base station, one or more radio resource control (RRC) messages indicating:
• a plurality of demodulation reference signal (DMRS) patterns;
• and
• a length of a DMRS for each of the plurality of DMRS patterns;
• determining a DMRS pattern of a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) based on the plurality of DMRS patterns and the length of the DMRS in the DMRS pattern;
• and
• transmitting, to a second wireless device, sidelink control information (SCI) indicating:
• the DMRS pattern of the PSSCH;
• and
• a number of one or more antenna ports for the DMRS in the DMRS pattern.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a wireless device, cause the wireless device to:

• receive, from a base station, one or more radio resource control (RRC) messages indicating:
• a plurality of demodulation reference signal (DMRS) patterns;
• and
• a length of a DMRS for each of the plurality of DMRS patterns;
• determine a DMRS pattern of a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) based on the plurality of DMRS patterns and the length of the DMRS in the DMRS pattern;
• and
• transmit, to a second wireless device, sidelink control information (SCI) indicating:
• the DMRS pattern of the PSSCH;
• and
• a number of one or more antenna ports for the DMRS in the DMRS pattern.
