Abstract
A method of method of preventing or reversing diuretic resistance, the method comprising administering to the subject an amount of a kappa opioid receptor agonist (KOA) sufficient to selectively increase urine output, wherein the KOA decreases or does not change urinary excretion of electrolytes.

A method to reverse diuretic resistance, the method comprising administering to the subject an amount of a kappa opioid receptor agonist (KOA) sufficient to selectively increase urine output, wherein the KOA decreases or does not change urinary excretion of electrolytes.
A method of preventing diuretic resistance, the method comprising administering to the subject an amount of a kappa opioid receptor agonist (KOA) sufficient to selectively increase urine output, wherein the KOA decreases or does not change urinary excretion of electrolytes, and the KOA is administered in combination with a diuretic.
A method of sensitizing a subject to a diuretic, the method comprising administering to the subject an amount of a kappa opioid receptor agonist (KOA) sufficient to selectively increase urine output, wherein the KOA decreases or does not change urinary excretion of electrolytes.
A method of promoting urinary output, the method comprising administering to the subject an amount of a kappa opioid receptor agonist (KOA) sufficient to selectively increase urine output, wherein the KOA reduces or does not change urinary excretion of electrolytes.
A method of treating a subject afflicted with a cardiovascular disease, the method comprising administering to the subject an amount of a kappa opioid receptor agonist (KOA) sufficient to selectively increase urine output, wherein the KOA decreases or does not change urinary excretion of electrolytes.
A method of treating a subject afflicted with a renal disease, the method comprising administering to the subject an amount of a kappa opioid receptor agonist (KOA) sufficient to selectively increase urine output, wherein the KOA decreases or does not change urinary excretion of electrolytes.
