Systems and methods for authorizing a transaction

One or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause operations comprising:

• obtaining information associated with a token, the token being encoded with a restriction associated with a user account;
• obtaining a request to authorize a transaction associated with the token;
• identify the restriction included in the information associated with the token;
• and
• authorizing the transaction based on the transaction satisfying the restriction.

A method comprising:

• obtaining information associated with a token, the token being encoded with a restriction associated with a user account, the information including the restriction;
• sending, to a server system, the information associated with the token and an authorization request to authorize a transaction associated with the token;
• obtaining an authorization from the server system based on the authorization request, the authorization being obtained from the server system based on a determination by the server system that the transaction satisfies the restriction;
• and
• processing the transaction based on the obtained authorization.
