Push channel and filtered subscription for near real time updates

A system comprising:

• a database system implemented using a server system, the database system configurable to cause:
• receiving, from a subscriber, a filtered subscription associated with a topic channel, the topic channel being associated with one or more topics, the filtered subscription indicating values of one or more database fields;
• identifying, from a transaction log, one or more database transactions relating to the topic channel;
• filtering the one or more database transactions according to the filtered subscription such that one or more filtered database transactions are obtained, the one or more filtered database transactions including at least a portion of the one or more database transactions;
• and
• transmitting, via a publisher, the one or more filtered database transactions to the subscriber.

A computer program product comprising computer-readable program code capable of being executed by one or more processors when retrieved from a non-transitory computer-readable medium, the program code comprising computer-readable instructions configurable to cause:

• receiving, from a subscriber, a filtered subscription associated with a topic channel, the topic channel being associated with one or more topics, the filtered subscription indicating values of one or more database fields;
• identifying, from a transaction log, one or more database transactions relating to the topic channel;
• filtering, the one or more database transactions according to the filtered subscription such that one or more filtered database transactions are obtained, the one or more filtered database transactions including at least a portion of the one or more database transactions;
• and
• transmitting, via a publisher, the one or more filtered database transactions to the subscriber.
