An anticorrosive composition, wherein the composition comprises:
- (a) one or more alkali metal silicate components of the formula Me2O·xSiO2, wherein x has a value of from 0.5 to 4.0,
- (b) one or more alkali metal phosphate components of the formula Me2O:
- nP2O5, wherein n has a value of from 0.33 to 1 and/or hydrates thereof,
- (c) one or more carboxylic acids having 6-22 carbon atoms and/or salts thereof.
