Endoscope device, method of operating endoscope device, and recording medium

A method of operating an endoscope device including an imaging device configured to generate an image in which a treatment tool is seen, the method comprising:

• determining a position and a size of a region including a distal end of the treatment tool seen in the image;
• setting a control region in the image based on the position and the size;
• executing exposure control of controlling brightness of the image by using a value of a pixel in the control region;
• and
• displaying, on a display, a control region image including the control region after the exposure control is executed,
• wherein the control region includes a first region and excludes a second region,
• wherein the distal end is seen in the first region,
• wherein a base end of the treatment tool is seen in the second region, and
• wherein the second region is in contact with a boundary of the image.

A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium storing a program causing a computer of an endoscope device including an imaging device configured to generate an image in which a treatment tool is seen to execute:

• determining a position and a size of a region including a distal end of the treatment tool seen in the image;
• setting a control region in the image based on the position and the size;
• executing exposure control of controlling brightness of the image by using a value of a pixel in the control region;
• and
• displaying, on a display, a control region image including the control region after the exposure control is executed,
• wherein the control region includes a first region and excludes a second region,
• wherein the distal end is seen in the first region,
• wherein a base end of the treatment tool is seen in the second region, and
• wherein the second region is in contact with a boundary of the image.

An endoscope device, comprising:

• an imaging device configured to generate an image in which a treatment tool is seen;
• and
• a processor configured to:
• determine a position and a size of a region including a distal end of the treatment tool seen in the image;
• set a control region in the image based on the position and the size;
• execute exposure control of controlling brightness of the image by using a value of a pixel in the control region;
• and
• display, on a display, a control region image including the control region after the exposure control is executed,
• wherein the control region includes a first region and excludes a second region,
• wherein the distal end is seen in the first region,
• wherein a base end of the treatment tool is seen in the second region, and
• wherein the second region is in contact with a boundary of the image.
