Cancer Immunotherapy by Radiofrequency Electrical Membrane Breakdown (RF-EMB)

A system for treating a tumor in a patient, the system comprising:

• an electric pulse generator;
• a probe comprising an electrode electrically connected to the electric pulse generator;
• and
• a composition administration apparatus;
• wherein the probe and electric pulse generator are configured to apply, to the tumor, an electric field sufficient to cause destruction of a cell membrane of cells of the tumor and spillage of intracellular components and antigens into an extracellular space to thereby ablate the tumor, and
• wherein the composition administration apparatus is configured to enable intratumoral administration, to the patient, of a composition comprising a combination of at least two immune checkpoint inhibitors and an immunomodulatory agent, each being present in a therapeutically effective amount, wherein the at least two immune checkpoint inhibitors are a CTLA-4 inhibitor and a PD-1 inhibitor.
