Abstract
A medical implant comprising a plurality of layers, each layer comprising a polymer and a plurality of uni-directionally aligned continuous reinforcement fibers.
Claims41
A medical implant comprising a biocomposite;
- wherein the biocomposite comprises a polymer and a plurality of continuous reinforcement fibers;
- wherein the fibers are present as fiber bundles;
- wherein said fibers are uni-directionally aligned;
- wherein said polymer is biodegradable and said implant is bioabsorbable;
- wherein said continuous fibers are longer than 4 mm;
