Abstract
A polymeric hybrid material with photothermal properties is provided. The polymeric hybrid material containing polydopamine and particles of at least one of the polymers that are homogeneously dispersed and stable in a basic aqueous medium, where the surfaces of said polymer particles are coated with polydopamine, and the particles of polyurethane are in a sub-micron scale.
Claims20
A polymeric hybrid material with photothermal properties, comprising:
- polydopamine and particles of polyurethane or a copolymer made up of monomers comprising polyurethane monomers, wherein surfaces of the particles are coated with the polydopamine and the particles are in a sub-micron scale.
A method of a production for a polymeric hybrid material with photothermal properties, comprising the following steps:
- a) preparing or providing an aqueous mixture of particles of polyurethane or a copolymer comprising polyurethane monomers, wherein the particles are in a sub-micron scale;
- b) adding a dopamine monomer to the aqueous mixture to obtain a resulting mixture;
- c) bringing a pH of the resulting mixture obtained in step (b) to a basic value to obtain a basic mixture;
- d) subjecting the basic mixture obtained in step (c) to an oxidative polymerization;
- and
- e) obtaining the polymeric hybrid material in an aqueous medium containing polydopamine coated the particles in the sub-micron scale.
