Resorcinol-based compounds and uses thereof

A resorcinol-based compound having the structure of Formula I:

• L1 is selected from,
• R1 is selected from H, —OH, an optionally substituted (C5-C12)cycloalkyl, an optionally substituted (C5-C12)cycloalkenyl, an optionally substituted (C5-C12)cycloalkynyl, an optionally substituted aryl, an optionally substituted heterocycle, and an optionally substituted extended mixed ring system;
• R2, R4, R6, and R7 are each independently selected from H or a (C1-C3)alkyl,
• R3 and R5 are each independently selected from H, hydroxyl, a (C1-C3)alkyl, and a halo;
• R8 is selected from an optionally substituted (C1-C12)alkyl, an optionally substituted (C1-C11) hetero-alkyl, an optionally substituted (C1-C12)alkenyl, an optionally substituted (C1-C11) hetero-alkenyl, an optionally substituted (C1-C12)alkynyl, an optionally substituted (C1-C1) hetero-alkynyl, an optionally substituted aryl, an optionally substituted (C3-C12)cycloalkyl, an optionally substituted (C3-C12)cycloalkenyl, and an optionally substituted heterocycle;
• and
• R9 is selected from H, and a (C1-C3)alkyl.
