System and method for lift augmentation of aircraft wings

A system for lift augmentation of a blown lift aircraft comprising:

• a one pair of wings, wherein each wing of the one pair of wings has a leading edge and a trailing edge extending along a wingspan;
• a plurality of thrust-producing devices operatively connected to a bottom of each wing, wherein the plurality of thrust-producing devices produce a plurality of respective slipstreams, and wherein the plurality of respective slipstreams blow over at least 50% of the wingspan;
• a full span flap connected on each wing, wherein the full span flap on each wing are adaptable to deflect 20-90 degrees from a wing chord of each wing, and wherein a flap chord is at least 20% of the wing chord of each wing, and wherein the full span flap on each wing are blown by the plurality of thrust-producing devices;
• and
• at least one spoiler operatively connected to each wing.

A system for lift augmentation of a blown lift aircraft comprising:

• a one pair of wings, wherein each wing of the one pair of wings has a leading edge and a trailing edge extending along a wingspan;
• a plurality of propellers operatively connected to a bottom of each wing, wherein the plurality of propellers produce a plurality of respective slipstreams that blow over at least 50% of said wingspan, and wherein a rotational axis of each propeller of the plurality of propellers are connected at an angle of 1-20% degrees from a wing chord of each wing;
• a full span flap connected on each wing of the one pair of wings, wherein the full span flap on each wing are adaptable to deflect 20-90 degrees from a wing chord of each wing, and wherein a flap chord is at least 20% of the wing chord of each wing, and wherein the full span flap on each wing are blown by the plurality of propellers;
• and
• at least one spoiler operatively connected to each wing.

A method of lift augmentation of an aircraft wings comprising:

• operating a plurality of propellers connected to each wing of a one pair of wings, wherein the plurality of propellers are configured to produce a plurality of respective slipstreams, and wherein the plurality of propellers have a diameter of 20-80% of a wing chord;
• positioning a full span flap connected to each wing of the one pair of wings into a deflected state with reference to the wing chord, wherein the full span flap on each wing are blown by the plurality of respective slipstreams, and wherein the full span flap on each wing are adaptable to deflect 20-90 degrees from the wing chord;
• positioning at least one spoiler connected to each wing of the one pair of wings;
• and
• controlling the lift augmentation of the aircraft wings by varying a thrust of the plurality of propellers, an angle of the full span flap on each wing, and an angle of the at least one spoiler on each wing.
