A debris receptacle for a router table includes an enclosure configured to be attached to the router table. The enclosure defines an interior sized and shaped to receive a router. The enclosure defines a debris inlet aperture in fluid communication with a router bit aperture of the work platform so that the interior receives the debris from router bit aperture via the debris inlet aperture. The enclosure also defines a debris outlet aperture in fluid communication with a dust collector to remove debris from the interior. The enclosure further defines an air inlet aperture in fluid communication with air in an environment outside the enclosure. The debris receptacle also includes an air intake conduit for fluidly coupling the air inlet aperture to an air inlet of the router, thereby enabling the router to draw air into the router from the environment outside the enclosure to cool the router.
A debris receptacle for a router table having a work platform and a router suspended below the work platform, the debris receptacle comprising:
A router for use with a router table to cut workpieces, the router comprising an electric motor, a housing containing the electric motor and having first and second opposite ends, a shaft operatively connected to the electric motor for being rotated by the electric motor, a chuck mounted on the shaft, the chuck being located adjacent the first end of the housing and configured for releasably attaching router bits to the shaft, wherein the housing has a cooling air port defining a cooling air port opening into the housing at a location for supplying cooling air to the electric motor, the cooling air port being disposed toward the second end of the housing from the chuck and being configured to sealingly receive a hose for drawing cooling air from a location remote from the housing.
