Control device for a building automation system having name resolution management

A method of a controller of a building automation system comprising:

• communicating, by a communication component of the controller, with at least one other controller of a plurality of automation level devices;
• associating the plurality of automation level devices with an automation level network of the building automation system, the plurality of automation level devices including the controller and the at least one other controller;
• and
• performing, by a processor of the controller, name resolution, wherein performing the name resolution includes synchronizing names of objects for devices associated with a building automation system by device object references.
