Abstract
An electronic display assembly includes an electronic display and a panel located within a housing such that the panel is spaced apart from a rear surface of the electronic display. An airflow pathway fluidly connected to an ambient environment extends through at least a portion of the housing. At least a portion of the airflow pathway extends behind the electronic display and forward of the panel. At least one electronic component for operating the electronic display assembly is located at a rear surface of the panel. The at least one electronic component may be directly adhered to the rear surface of the panel, such as to provide thermal coupling.
Claims20
An electronic display assembly comprising:
- a housing;
- an electronic display within the housing;
- a panel within the housing and spaced apart from a rear surface of the electronic display;
- an airflow pathway fluidly connected to an ambient environment and extending through at least a portion of the housing, wherein at least a portion of said airflow pathway is located rearward of the rear surface of the electronic display and forward of a forward surface of the panel;
- and
- at least one electronic component for operating the electronic display assembly located at a rear surface of the panel.
An electronic display assembly comprising:
- a housing having an intake and an exhaust;
- an electronic display within the housing;
- a panel within the housing and spaced apart from a rear surface of the electronic display;
- an airflow pathway extending between the intake and the exhaust, wherein said airflow pathway extends, at least in part, between and along the rear surface of the electronic display and a forward surface of the panel;
- one or more fans for moving ambient air through the airflow pathway when operated;
- and
- electronic components for operating the electronic display assembly directly adhered to a rear surface of the panel to provide thermal coupling of said electronic components to said panel, wherein said electronic components comprise at least one power supply.
An electronic display assembly comprising:
- a housing having an intake and an exhaust;
- an electronic display located within the housing and comprising a liquid crystal layer and a backlight;
- a panel located within the housing and spaced apart from the backlight of the electronic display;
- an airflow pathway extending between the intake and the exhaust, wherein at least a portion of said airflow pathway is located between a rear surface of the backlight of the electronic display and a forward surface of the panel;
- one or more fans located within the airflow pathway for moving ambient air through the airflow pathway when operated;
- and
- one or more electronic components for operating the electronic display assembly directly adhered to the rear surface of the backlight.
