Abstract
Disclosed are systems and methods for cooling. In one embodiment, a cooling system can include an electro-osmotic (EO) pump operationally coupled, in a fluid circuit, to a heat exchanger and to one or more gas collectors. In some embodiments, the EO pump can be coupled to a gas collector with a thermal fitting. In certain embodiments, the heat exchanger can be coupled to the EO pump and to the second gas collector with thermal fittings. In one embodiment, the cooling system can be used to facilitate cooling, for example, a printed circuit board.
Claims20
A cooling system comprising:
- an electro-osmotic (EO) pump;
- a first gas accumulator operationally coupled to the EO pump in a fluid circuit;
- a second gas accumulator operationally coupled to the EO pump in the fluid circuit;
- and
- a heat exchanger operationally coupled to the EO pump in the fluid circuit.
ling system of claim 1, wherein the heat exchanger comprises a gas accumulator coupler, wherein the second gas accumulator comprises a heat exchanger receptacle, and wherein the gas accumulator coupler and the heat exchanger receptacle are coupled with a thermal fitting.
ling system of claim 4, wherein the interference fit is produced by a thermal fitting.
A method of manufacturing a cooling system, the method comprising:
- providing an electro-osmotic (EO) pump;
- providing a first gas accumulator and operationally coupling the first gas accumulator to the EO pump in a fluid circuit;
- providing a second gas accumulator and operationally coupling the second gas accumulator to the EO pump in the fluid circuit;
- and
- providing a heat exchanger and operationally coupling the heat exchanger to the EO pump in the fluid circuit.
