Abstract
In a method for filtering in video decoding, a coded video bitstream that includes filter shape index information is received. A filter shape configuration of a video filter is determined based on the filter shape index information. The filter shape index information indicates that a number of filter taps of the filter shape configuration is less than five. Offset values associated with the filter shape configuration of the video filter are determined. The video filter is applied on a sample based on the offset values associated with the filter shape configuration.
Claims20
A method for filtering in video decoding, the method comprising:
- receiving a coded video bitstream that includes filter shape index information;
- determining a filter shape configuration of a video filter based on the filter shape index information, the filter shape index information indicating that a number of filter taps of the filter shape configuration being less than five;
- determining offset values associated with the filter shape configuration of the video filter;
- and
- applying the video filter on a sample based on the offset values associated with the filter shape configuration.
An apparatus for video decoding, comprising processing circuitry configured to:
- receive a coded video bitstream that includes filter shape index information;
- determine a filter shape configuration of a video filter based on the filter shape index information, the filter shape index information indicating that a number of filter taps of the filter shape configuration being less than five;
- determine offset values associated with the filter shape configuration of the video filter;
- and
- apply the video filter on a sample based on the offset values associated with the filter shape configuration.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing instructions which when executed by a processor cause the processor to perform:
- receiving a coded video bitstream that includes filter shape index information;
- determining a filter shape configuration of a video filter based on the filter shape index information, the filter shape index information indicating that a number of filter taps of the filter shape configuration being less than five;
- determining offset values associated with the filter shape configuration of the video filter;
- and
- applying the video filter on a sample based on the offset values associated with the filter shape configuration.
