System for processing retail clinic claims

A computer-implemented method for adjudicating medical transactions, the method comprising:

• receiving, over a computer network, information about a requested medical treatment for a patient and health insurance information for the patient determining a copayment amount to be paid by the patient for the requested medical treatment;
• determining a covered amount to be paid by an insurer of the patient for the requested medical treatment;
• transmitting, over the computer network, data associated with the requested medical treatment to a treatment clinic computing system to enable a point of sale transaction for the requested medical treatment;
• transmitting, over the computer network, data specifying the copayment amount to be paid by the patient to the treatment clinic computing system;
• and
• transmitting, over the computer network, a bill to the insurer for the covered amount and transmitting the data specifying the copayment amount to be paid by the patient.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium comprising at least one program for execution by one or more processors, the at least one program including instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:

• receiving, over a computer network, information about a requested medical treatment for a patient and health insurance information for the patient;
• determining a copayment amount to be paid by the patient for the requested medical treatment;
• determining a covered amount to be paid by an insurer of the patient for the requested medical treatment;
• transmitting, over the computer network, data associated with the requested medical treatment to a treatment clinic computing system to enable a point of sale transaction the requested medical treatment;
• transmitting, over the computer network, data specifying the copayment amount to be paid by the patient to the treatment clinic computing system;
• and
• transmitting, over the computer network, a bill to the insurer for the covered amount and transmitting the data specifying the copayment amount to be paid by the patient.
