Modernizing application components to reduce energy consumption

A computer system for application modernization, comprising:

• one or more processors, one or more computer-readable memories, one or more computer-readable tangible storage medium, and program instructions stored on at least one of the one or more tangible storage medium for execution by at least one of the one or more processors via at least one of the one or more memories, wherein the computer system is capable of performing a method comprising:
• receiving operation data related to an application;
• identifying a plurality of entities based on the operation data related to the identifying one or more interactions between each of the plurality of entities;
• determining an energy consumption pattern for the application by analyzing a consumption of energy related to workload;
• and
• determining a modernization scope for the application based on the energy consumption pattern.

A computer program product for application modernization, comprising:

• one or more non-transitory computer-readable storage media and program instructions stored on at least one of the one or more tangible storage media, the program instructions executable by a processor to cause the processor to perform a method comprising:
• receiving operation data related to an application;
• identifying a plurality of entities based on the operation data related to the application;
• identifying one or more interactions between each of the plurality of entities;
• determining an energy consumption pattern for the application by analyzing a consumption of energy related to workload;
• and
• determining a modernization scope for the application based on the energy consumption pattern.

A method for application component identification, the method comprising:

• receiving operational data related to an application;
• identifying a plurality of entities of the application based on the operational data;
• identifying relationships between each of the plurality of entities;
• and
• generating a graph, wherein the graph includes each of the plurality of entities, wherein each of the plurality of entities are represented as nodes, and the relationships between each of the plurality of entities are represented as edges.

A computer system for application component identification, comprising:

• receiving operational data related to an application;
• identifying a plurality of entities of the application based on the operational data;
• identifying relationships between each of the plurality of entities;
• and
• generating a graph, wherein the graph includes each of the plurality of entities, wherein each of the plurality of entities are represented as nodes, and the relationships between each of the plurality of entities are represented as edges.
