An optical fiber cable, comprising:

• a plurality of tight-buffered ribbon stacks that are stranded about a longitudinal axis, the tight-buffered ribbon stacks each comprising:
• a plurality of optical fiber ribbons arranged in a stack;
• and
• a buffer tube that is substantially conformal to the stack of the optical fiber ribbons;
• and
• a cable jacket having an interior surface that defines a central bore, the plurality of tight-buffered ribbon stacks disposed within the central bore.

A cable, comprising:

• a plurality of tight-buffered ribbon stacks that are stranded about a longitudinal axis, the tight-buffered ribbon stacks each comprising:
• a plurality of optical fiber ribbons arranged in a stack;
• and
• a buffer tube that is substantially conformal to the stack of the optical fiber ribbons;
• a binder film that continuously and contiguously surrounds the plurality of tight-buffered ribbon stacks along the longitudinal axis such that the plurality of tight-buffered ribbon stacks are disposed within an interior region defined by the binder film, the interior region characterized by at least 40% of free space;
• and
• a cable jacket having an interior surface that defines a central bore, the binder film and the plurality of tight-buffered ribbon stacks disposed within the central bore.
