Abstract
An elastomeric article having a rubber component comprising polyisoprene and an aldehyde aniline condensate, the elastomeric article having less than 1 ppm diisopropyl xanthogen polysulfide residue.
Claims20
A method of making a latex dispersion comprising:
- providing a rubber component comprising polyisoprene, and
- combining the rubber component with a vulcanization composition comprising at least one fugitive dihydrocarbyl xanthogen polysulfide accelerator.
A coating composition for an elastomeric article, comprising:
- a latex dispersion comprising:
- polyisoprene, and
- a vulcanization composition comprising a source of sulfur, diisopropyl xanthogen polysulfide, heptaldehyde-aniline, and a metal oxide;
- a second polymer latex selected from the group consisting of natural rubber, polyurethane, polybutadiene, polychloroprene, nitrile rubber, block copolymers of styrene and butadiene, block copolymers of styrene and isoprene, and synthetic polyisoprene;
- and
- water.
