Non-Line-of-Sight Detection

An apparatus, comprising:

• at least one processor configured to cause a wireless device to:
• perform a channel measurement for a wireless channel;
• compare the channel measurement to one or more threshold conditions comprising a polarization threshold condition;
• and
• determine whether a line-of-sight (LOS) path is available for the wireless channel based at least in part on the comparison of the channel measurement to the polarization threshold condition.

A non-transitory computer readable memory medium storing program instructions executable by one or more processors of a user equipment (UE) to cause the UE to:

• perform channel measurements for a wireless channel during a first time window;
• compare the channel measurements to one or more threshold conditions comprising a polarization threshold condition;
• and
• determine whether a line-of-sight path is available for the wireless channel during the first time window based at least in part on the comparison of the channel measurements for the wireless channel during the first time window to the polarization threshold condition.

A method, comprising:

• by a wireless device:
• performing a channel measurement for a wireless channel;
• comparing the channel measurement to one or more threshold conditions comprising a polarization threshold condition;
• and
• determining whether a line-of-sight (LOS) path is available for the wireless channel based at least in part on the comparison of the channel measurement to the polarization threshold condition.
