Abstract
Described are techniques for shared library customization. The techniques include generating a customized library for a container image associated with an application and a shared library. The customized library includes a subset of the shared library with functionalities utilized by the application retained in the customized library and functionalities not utilized by the application removed from the customized library. The techniques further include executing the application on a deployed container image, where the application utilizes the customized library.
Claims20
A computer-implemented method comprising:
- generating a customized library for a container image associated with an application and a shared library, wherein the customized library includes a subset of the shared library with functionalities utilized by the application retained in the customized library and functionalities not utilized by the application removed from the customized library;
- and
- executing the application on a deployed container image, wherein the application utilizes the customized library.
A system comprising:
- one or more computer readable storage media storing program instructions;
- and
- one or more processors which, in response to executing the program instructions, are configured to perform a method comprising:
- generating a customized library for a container image associated with an application and a shared library, wherein the customized library includes a subset of the shared library with functionalities utilized by the application retained in the customized library and functionalities not utilized by the application removed from the customized library;
- and
- executing the application on a deployed container image, wherein the application utilizes the customized library.
A computer program product comprising one or more computer readable storage media, and program instructions collectively stored on the one or more computer readable storage media, the program instructions comprising instructions configured to cause one or more processors to perform a method comprising:
- generating a customized library for a container image associated with an application and a shared library, wherein the customized library includes a subset of the shared library with functionalities utilized by the application retained in the customized library and functionalities not utilized by the application removed from the customized library;
- and
- executing the application on a deployed container image, wherein the application utilizes the customized library.
