Abstract
One example described herein includes a system that can receive values for performance factors associated with a distributed storage system. The system can provide the values as input to a machine-learning model configured to select a hash function from among a set of hash functions based on the values and generate an output indicating the hash function. The system can then configure the distributed storage system to map a data item to a storage device using the hash function.
Claims20
A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising program code that is executable by a processor for causing the processor to:
- receive values for performance factors associated with a distributed storage system;
- provide the values as input to a machine-learning model configured to select a hash function from among a plurality of hash functions based on the values and generate an output indicating the hash function;
- and
- configure the distributed storage system to map a data item to a storage device using the hash function.
A method comprising:
- receiving, by a processor, values for performance factors associated with a distributed storage system;
- providing, by the processor, the values as input to a machine-learning model configured to select a hash function from among a plurality of hash functions based on the values and generate an output indicating the hash function;
- and
- configuring, by the processor, the distributed storage system to map a data item to a storage device using the hash function.
A system comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a memory that includes instructions executable by the processor for causing the processor to:
- receive values for performance factors associated with a distributed storage system;
- provide the values as input to a machine-learning model configured to select a hash function from among a plurality of hash functions based on the values and generate an output indicating the hash function;
- and
- configure the distributed storage system to map a data item to a storage device using the hash function.
