Liquid crystal display device

A liquid crystal display device, comprising:

• an array substrate including a pixel array having a plurality of pixel electrodes arranged in a matrix on an insulating layer;
• a counter substrate opposite the array substrate and including a counter electrode overlapping the plurality of pixel electrodes;
• and
• a liquid crystal layer between the array substrate and the counter substrate,
• wherein the counter electrode includes first openings overlapping each of the plurality of pixel electrodes, and second openings overlapping regions between pixels of the plurality of pixel electrodes.

A liquid crystal display device, comprising:

• an array substrate including a pixel array having a plurality of pixel electrodes arranged in a row and column direction on an insulating layer;
• a counter substrate opposite the array substrate and including a counter electrode overlapping the plurality of pixel electrodes;
• a liquid crystal layer between the array substrate and the counter substrate;
• and
• a first spacer between the array substrate and the counter substrate, wherein
• the counter electrode includes first openings overlapping each of the plurality of pixel electrodes, and second openings overlapping region between pixels of the plurality of pixel electrodes,
• the first spacer is arranged in a first region between pixel electrodes of the plurality of pixel electrodes and in a direction along a diagonal of the pixel array, and
• the second openings are arranged in a region between the plurality of pixel electrodes and between the pixel electrodes along the array of the first spacer.
