Multiple position sleeve system for improved wellbore injection

A system, comprising:

• a geothermal well system having an injection well completed with a geothermal well completion, geothermal well completion comprising:
• a tubing string having a plurality of tubular sections deployed along a plurality of corresponding well zones, each tubular section having a fracturing port and a production port, each tubular section being combined with a shiftable tool having a sleeve system selectively shiftable between:
• an off position closing off the fracturing port and the production port;
• a hydraulic fracturing position which opens the fracturing port while the production port remains closed;
• and a production flow position which closes off the fracturing port and opens the production port, the production ports being sized to provide an evenly distributed production outflow into a surrounding geothermal formation across the plurality of corresponding well zones.

A method, comprising:

• providing a geothermal injection well with a geothermal well completion having a tubing string and a plurality of shiftable tools disposed along the tubing string within corresponding well zones;
• selectively positioning each shiftable tool to expose a corresponding fracturing port through the tubing string;
• performing fracturing operations in each of the corresponding well zones;
• actuating each shiftable tool to close off the corresponding fracturing ports and to open corresponding production ports;
• and
• injecting fluid down through the tubing string and out through the corresponding production ports with a desired balance of flow along the corresponding well zones.
