Abstract
A method of making an absorbent structure including mixing ultra-high molecular weight (“UHMW”) glyoxalated polyvinylamide adducts (“GPVM”) and/or high molecular weight (“HMW”), glyoxalated polyacrylamide and/or high cationic charge glyoxalated polyacrylamide (“GPAM”) copolymers and high molecular weight (“HMW”) anionic polyacrylamide (“APAM”) with the furnish during stock preparation of a wet laid papermaking process.

A retail roll towel product comprising:
- a two-ply cellulose sheet or web having a cross direction wet strength of 80 to 200 N/m and a two-ply caliper of 600 to 1500 microns, wherein the retail roll towel product has a basis weight range of 38 to 45 g/m2 and contains non detect chloropropanediol and 0 to 0.1% by weight polyaminoamide-epihalohydrin.
A retail roll through air dried towel product comprising:
- at least one cellulose sheet or web having a cross direction wet strength of 80 to 200 N/m and a caliper of 600 to 1500 microns, wherein the retail roll towel product contains 0 to 0.09% by weight polyaminoamide-epihalohydrin and has a (dip and dunk) absorbency of from 500 to 700 grams.
A retail roll towel product comprising:
- at least one ply of cellulose sheet or web, wherein the retail roll towel product contains non detect to 550 ppb chloropropanediol, high molecular weight anionic polyacrylamide, and ultra-high molecular weight glyoxalated polyacrylamide.
A retail roll through air dried towel product comprising:
- at least one cellulose sheet or web having a cross direction wet strength of 80 to 200 N/m and GATS absorbency from 14.0 to 18.0 g/g, wherein the retail roll towel product contains 0 to 0.1% by weight polyaminoamide-epihalohydrin.
A method of making an absorbent structure comprising:
- forming a stock mixture of fibers, high molecular weight anionic polyacrylamide (HMW APAM), a novel polymer synthesized using vinylamide, glyoxyl, oxidized lignin, and laccase, and;
- at least partially drying the stock mixture to form a web using a wet laid process.
An absorbent product that is free from polyaminoamide-epihalohydrin (PAE) as measured using the “Adipate test” and contains a Dichloropropanol (DCP) concentration of less than 0.05 ppm and a Chloropropandiol (CPD) concentration of less than 0.1 ppm.
An absorbent product that is free from polyaminoamide-epihalohydrin (PAE) as measured using the “Adipate test” and that contains a Dichloropropanol (DCP) concentration of less than 50 ppb and a Chloropropandiol (CPD) concentration of less than 300 ppb.
A tissue product comprising:
- a two ply creped through air dried retail towel with a cross direction wet strength of 80 to 150 N/m, a dry caliper of 700 to 1200 microns, measured chloropropanediol from 50 to 300 parts per billion in paper that makes up the product and measured dichloropropanol from 30 to 200 parts per billion in the paper,
- wherein no polyaminoamide-epihalohydrin resin is added to a wet-end of a papermaking machine used to make the tissue product.
A tissue product comprising:
