Abstract
The invention provides metal-peptoid complexes for use as electrocatalyst in water oxidation processes.

An oxidative aqueous medium comprising a metal-peptoid complex comprising
- at least one metal ion associated to a peptoid oligomer incorporating at least one metal-binding ligand and at least one proton acceptor group;
- and
- a borate species.
An electrocatalyst comprising or consisting a metal peptoid complex comprising at least one metal ion associated to a peptoid oligomer comprising at least one metal-binding ligand and at least one proton acceptor group, wherein the electrocatalyst is for use in a method of electrocatalysis in an aqueous medium comprising a borate species.
