Vehicle diagnostic information communications

A system comprising:

• a vehicle comprising one or more electrical control units;
• a server;
• and
• one or more processors configured to cause the system to perform a method comprising:
• collecting first data associated with the vehicle at a first frequency;
• collecting second data associated with the vehicle at a second frequency wherein:
• the second frequency is higher than the first frequency, and
• a size of the second data is greater than a size of the first data;
• determining whether a vehicle event associated with the vehicle is occurring, wherein the vehicle event relates to an operational state of the one or more electrical control units;
• and
• in accordance with a determination of an occurrence of the vehicle event:
• identifying a portion of the second data, wherein:
• the portion of the second data comprises second data collected from (1) a first amount of time prior to the vehicle event to (2) a second amount of time after the vehicle event, and
• the first amount of time and the second amount of time are determined based on the vehicle event, and
• wherein vehicle diagnostic information is determined based on the portion of the second data.

A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing one or more programs, the one or more programs comprising instructions, which when executed by a system with one or more processors and memory, cause the system to perform a method comprising:

• collecting first data associated with the vehicle at a first frequency;
• collecting second data associated with the vehicle at a second frequency wherein:
• the second frequency is higher than the first frequency, and
• a size of the second data is greater than a size of the first data;
• determining whether a vehicle event associated with the vehicle is occurring, wherein the vehicle event relates to an operational state of the one or more electrical control units;
• and
• in accordance with a determination of an occurrence of the vehicle event:
• identifying a portion of the second data, wherein:
• the portion of the second data comprises second data collected from (1) a first amount of time prior to the vehicle event to (2) a second amount of time after the vehicle event, and
• the first amount of time and the second amount of time are determined based on the vehicle event, and
• wherein vehicle diagnostic information is determined based on the portion of the second data.
