Endoscope with a bending section having a disc for fixing a steering wire

An endoscope comprising:

• a handle;
• a shaft connected to the handle and comprising a bending section, the bending section made of a first material and comprising segments including a proximal end segment, a distal end segment and intermediate segments between the proximal end segment and the distal end segment, the segments interconnected by hinge members, the bending section further comprising an inner lumen and steering wire lumens having lumen ends at a distal end of the bending section, the inner lumen configured to accommodate a working channel tube;
• a first steering wire;
• and
• a disc made of a second material different from the first material and having a first pair of wire lumen openings, a first pair of locking openings, a proximal surface, and a distal surface, the disc being arranged at the distal end of the bending section, the first pair of steering wire lumen openings guiding the first steering wire therethrough, and the first pair of locking openings configured to thread or twist the first steering wire therethrough to lock the first steering wire to the disc.
