Method and apparatus for reducing power consumption in mobile device

A method for an electronic device, the method comprising:

• driving a display of the electronic device comprising a touchscreen so that an entirety of the display is usable as a first region for display;
• displaying an execution screen for an operation executed by the electronic device in the first region for display;
• receiving a first user interaction through the touchscreen, while the display is driven so that the entirety of the display is usable as the first region for display and the execution screen is displayed in the first region;
• based on the first user interaction, driving the display so that only less than the entirety of the display is usable as a second region for display and a remaining region of the display other than the second region is not usable for display;
• displaying the execution screen in the second region for display;
• receiving a second user interaction through the touch screen, while the display is driven so that only less than the entirety of the display is usable as the second region for display and the execution screen is displayed in the second region;
• based on the second user interaction, changing from driving the display so that only less than the entirety of the display is usable as the second region for display to driving the display so that the entirety of the display is usable as the first region for display;
• and
• displaying the execution screen in the first region for display,
• wherein power consumption of the display is reduced when the driving of the display changes from driving the display so that the entirety of the display is usable as the first region for display to driving the display so that only less than the entirety of the display is usable as the second region for display.

A non-transitory computer readable medium storing a program which, when executed by a processor of an electronic device, causes the processor to control to:

• drive a display of the electronic device comprising a touchscreen so that an entirety of the display is usable as a first region for display;
• display an execution screen for an operation executed by the electronic device in the first region for display;
• receive a first user interaction through the touchscreen, while the display is driven so that the entirety of the display is usable as the first region for display and the execution screen is displayed in the first region;
• based on the first user interaction, drive the display so that only less than the entirety of the display is usable as a second region for display and a remaining region of the display other than the second region is not usable for display;
• display the execution screen in the second region for display;
• receive a second user interaction through the touch screen, while the display is driven so that only less than the entirety of the display is usable as the second region for display and the execution screen is displayed in the second region;
• based on the second user interaction, change from driving the display so that only less than the entirety of the display is usable as the second region for display to driving the display so that the entirety of the display is usable as the first region for display;
• and
• display the execution screen in the first region for display,
• wherein power consumption of the display is reduced when the driving of the display changes from driving the display so that the entirety of the display is usable as the first region for display to driving the display so that only less than the entirety of the display is usable as the second region for display.
