Driving mode switching assist system

A driving mode switching assist system that is to assist driving mode switching so as to allow for switching from an automatic driving mode to a manual driving mode safely in driving of a vehicle, the driving mode switching assist system comprising:

• multiple parking-allowable driving mode switching spaces installed in optional locations allowing for installation of a parking space along a vehicle passage road, the driving mode switching spaces being provided for switching from automatic driving to manual driving;
• a driving segment configuration means which configures an automatic driving segment to be traveled in the automatic driving mode, on the basis of the position of any driving mode switching space that is selected from said multiple driving mode switching spaces and is to be configured in advance so as to allow for parking of the vehicle with automatic driving;
• and
• a travel stop state maintaining means for compulsorily maintaining a vehicle travel stop state for a prescribed stopping time, after said vehicle is guided in the automatic driving mode from said automatic driving segment to said selected driving mode switching space.
