Abstract
Catheter assemblies including an interfacial pH controller for maintaining hydration liquid pH are provided.
Claims28
A catheter assembly comprising:
- a package defining a cavity;
- a catheter with at least a portion of the catheter having a hydrophilic surface contained within the cavity of the package;
- a hydration liquid within the cavity of the package;
- and
- an interfacial pH controller comprising a salt at least partially in contact with the hydration liquid of the cavity.

A method of maintaining pH within a catheter package comprising:
- placing a catheter with at least a portion including a hydrophilic surface into a catheter package;
- adding a hydration liquid to the catheter package;
- and
- adding an interfacial pH controller comprising a salt to the catheter package so it is at least partially in contact with the hydration liquid of the catheter package.
