Abstract
An electrical machine comprising a rotor and a stator. The rotor comprises at least one permanent magnet; at least one magnet slot interior to the rotor, configured to hold the permanent magnet, which magnet slot comprises at least one end portion at a rotor surface of the rotor; at least one magnet bridge arranged in the rotor surface, configured to cover the end portion of the magnet slot; and at least one axially extending groove in the rotor surface, arranged adjacent to the at least one magnet bridge.

A rotor for an electrical machine, the rotor comprising:
- at least one permanent magnet;
- at least one magnet slot interior to the rotor, configured to hold the permanent magnet, which magnet slot comprises at least one end portion at a rotor surface of the rotor;
- at least one magnet bridge arranged in the rotor surface, configured to cover the end portion of the magnet slot;
- and
- at least one axially extending groove in the rotor surface, arranged adjacent to the at least one magnet bridge.
