A point-of-care (POC) chronoamperometry device for selective arsenite (As3+) sensing, the said device comprises, a reusable bio-mimic electrode test strip made of electrochemically reduced graphene oxide (ERGO) grown by electroreduction of graphene oxide (GO) on a metallic thin film coated flexible substrate, where,
- the electronic property of the ERGO surface is modified to obtain selectivity for As3+ by electrochemical reduction of GO at a low DC potential in the range between 0 to -1.5 V at the electrode for 0 to 8 hours
- wherein, the said device selectively detects As3+ in field water samples upon applying a fixed potential of +0.1 to +0.25 V in a pH range of 6-9 and is independent of conductivity and TDS levels in the water samples.
