Abstract
Disclosed herein are methods and systems for conserving energy of a power source of an analyte monitoring device, including entering a power saving mode based on at least one of a temperature level of a power source, a level of power of a power source, or an amount of power needed by at least one component. Also disclosed herein are methods and systems for reducing noise during data transmissions to and from the analyte monitoring device.
Claims20
An analyte monitoring system, comprising:
- a receiver configured to wirelessly receive analyte data from an in vivo analyte sensor, the receiver comprising:
- a user input mechanism;
- a display;
- a power supply;
- and
- one or more processors coupled to the user input mechanism, the display, and the power supply;
- wherein the receiver comprises a first power mode and a second power mode, wherein in the first power mode, one or more processors of the receiver are active, wherein in the second power mode at least one of the one or more processors is inactive, and
- wherein the receiver is configured to transition from the first power mode to the second power mode when no executable actions are in process and no tasks are scheduled to run.
A method for operating a receiver of an analyte monitoring system, wherein the receiver comprises a user input mechanism, a display, a power supply, and one or more processors coupled to the user input mechanism, the display, and the power supply, the method comprising:
- operating the receiver in a first power mode in which the one or more processors are active;
- determining that no executable actions are in process and no tasks are scheduled to run;
- and
- transitioning from the first power mode to a second power mode, in response to the determination that no executable actions are in process and no tasks are scheduled to run, wherein in the second power mode at least one of the one or more processors is inactive.
