Replacing apparatus and replacing method

A replacing method of replacing a processing tool in a processing apparatus including a holder configured to hold a processing target object, a processing mechanism to which the processing tool configured to process the processing target object held by the holder is installed in a replaceable manner, and an exterior cover accommodating therein the holder and the processing mechanism, the replacing method comprising:

• receiving, by a replacing apparatus configured to replace the processing tool, a replacement instruction created in the processing apparatus;
• allowing the replacing apparatus to travel to a set position outside the exterior cover;
• detecting, by the replacing apparatus, a state in which an entrance opening of the exterior cover is opened;
• allowing the replacing apparatus to advance to an inside of the exterior cover from an outside thereof through the entrance opening of the exterior cover;
• and
• installing, by the replacing apparatus, the processing tool to the processing mechanism, or separating the processing tool from the processing mechanism.
