Method and device for activation of brain regions

A method for an activation of brain regions, the method comprising:

• attaching a first active electrode to a first leg of a person in the back of the knee area in an expected location of a peroneal nerve of the first leg;
• attaching a grounding electrode to the person;
• generating electrical pulses by a pulse generator connected to the first active electrode and a grounding electrode;
• stimulating by the first active electrode the peroneal nerve of the first leg and activating brain regions via the stimulation by the first active electrode, wherein the activation of the brain regions comprises an increase of a blood flow or an increase of a neuronal activity or an increase of both the blood flow and the neuronal activity in the brain regions of at least one of a limbic system, a basal ganglia or a midbrain of the person;
• and
• controlling via a control unit a flow of the generated pulses to the first active electrode.
