Abstract
A shredding assembly for tearing a plastic article, such as waste bottles into pieces or pellets. The shredding assembly includes rails that can be installed at a height and a shredder. The shredder includes a housing mounted on the rails and can slide from a stowed position to over one or more trash bins. The shredder includes two rollers mounted within the housing and a drive mechanism for counter-rotating the two rollers.

- rails configured to be installed at a height;
- and
- a shredder, the shredder comprising:
- a housing mounted on the rails and configured to slide on the rails;
- two rollers mounted within the housing, the two rollers are configured to tear a plastic article into pieces;

- a drive mechanism for counter-rotating the two rollers.
