Abstract
Dual or multi-modulation display system are disclosed that comprise projector systems with at least one modulator that may employ non-mechanical beam steering modulation. Many embodiments disclosed herein employ a non-mechanical beam steering and/or polarizer to provide for a highlights modulator.
Claims7
A method of display projection, comprising:
- polarizing a light emitted from a light source by a polarizer, wherein the polarizer adjusts a polarization orientation of the light relative to a first beam splitter;
- splitting the light, by the first beam splitter, along a first light path and a second light path;
- modulating the light along the second light path, by a spatial light modulator, to generate a highlight light;
- and
- combining, by a second beam splitter, a portion of the highlight light from the second light path and the light from the first light path to form a projection image including at least one highlight feature.
