• The system of claim 1, wherein the inner series and the outer series of the arc-shaped protrusions each comprise at least two arc-shaped protrusions.

• The system of claim 1, wherein the overlap between the respective arc-shaped protrusions equals at least 20 to 25% of an arc length of the respective overlapping protrusions.

• The system of claim 1, wherein an angular length of the overlap between the respective arc-shaped protrusions is between 5° and 90°.

• The system of claim 1, wherein the respective arc-shaped protrusions of the inner series and the outer series are arranged equidistant to each other about the circumference of the base-body to form constant circumferentially extending gaps between the respective protrusions.

• The system of claim 1, wherein the inner series and the outer series of arc-shaped protrusions are arranged distant from the cup-shaped base body and an outer periphery of the flange-like rim.

• The system of claim 1, wherein the annular space between the inner series and the outer series of arc-shaped protrusions is void of any protrusion.

• The system of claim 1, wherein the inner series and the outer series of arc-shaped protrusions are arranged at a radial distance of between 0.6 to 1.2 mm.

• The system of claim 1, wherein the respective protrusions of the inner series and the outer series comprise essentially the same dimensions in sectional side view.

• The system of claim 1, wherein the respective protrusions of the inner series and the outer series comprise a base width between 0.3 mm and 1.3 mm and a height between 0.8 mm and 1.7 mm.

• The system of claim 1, wherein the respective protrusions comprise in sectional side view a lower base portion with two opposing linear wall sections and an upper portion with two opposing rounded wall sections.

• The system of claim 11, wherein the two opposing rounded wall sections of the upper portion are joined by a rounded tip portion.

• The system of claim 11, wherein the two opposing linear wall sections are arranged to converge towards the upper portion of the respective protrusions.

• The system of claim 1, wherein the capsule body, the flange-like rim and the sealing member are produced by deep drawing an initially flat metal sheet.

• The system of claim 1, wherein the capsule is made from aluminum.

• The system of claim 16, wherein the capsule further comprises a closing membrane connected to the base body and/or the flange-like rim of the capsule.

• The system of claim 17, wherein the closing membrane is connected to a surface of the flange-like rim opposite to the surface at which the inner and outer series of arc-shaped protrusions are arranged.

• The system of claim 17, wherein the closing membrane is an aluminum foil sealed to the flange-like rim.

• The system of claim 1, wherein the capsule further comprises the beverage preparation ingredients, and the beverage preparation ingredients are enclosed in the base body and are selected from the group consisting of roasted ground coffee, tea, instant coffee, a mixture of roasted ground coffee and instant coffee, a syrup concentrate, a fruit extract concentrate, a chocolate product, a milk-based product, a dehydrated edible substance, and mixtures thereof.
